Practice is located at the Partners Dogs Training facility in Cave Creek, Arizona. 4640 E Forest Pleasant Place, Cave Creek, AZ 85331
Practice is held 2 to 6 times a month depending on time of year and demand. We generally have more practices during the spring/summer months as its warmer and people would like to get their dogs in the water. Trainers take a break from late November thru January. These are the low signup months as its cold and people are concentrating on the holidays.
Practice is run by a trainer who is there to help you in any way you need. From teaching your dog to swim to perfecting your throw for a better jump. Each hour has 5 dogs signed up that get 2 five minute sessions on the dock. This is done sequentially, first dog, second dog and so forth. After the fifth dog is done with their first 5 minutes, the first dog starts their second 5 minutes. This is done to give the dogs a break to process and rest. For more information on Practice, please see the “Welcome to Arizona Dockdogs 2016” document.

A national event is scheduled and managed by DockDogs worldwide with a camera and electronic scoring. DockDogs national rankings are calculated using the scores from these events. These rankings are then used for invitations to the DockDogs World Championship event.
A club event is scheduled and managed by the local club and scored manually/visually by two nationally sanctioned judges. DockDogs Club rankings are calculated using the scores from these events. Club scores are used for club level rankings, as well as titles for entry into DockDogs Regional competition events if the team has no National event scores.
A Club membership is a membership only to Arizona DockDogs and all that entails. A Worldwide membership is on the DockDogs.com site which gives you access to be able to pre-register for all events and placement in worldwide rankings.
No, all events are open to everyone to compete. However, to pre-register you need a username and login on the Dockdogs.com site. The site lets you “try it out” a few times but will then require you to pay the worldwide membership fee. All competitions are open for everyone to compete with Day of registration which is onsite at the event.
